The crispy fried bugs and spiders are the Cambodians favorite local snacks. This national delicacy of Cambodia, first eaten by starved people out of desperation during the Cambodian civil war of the 1970s, but they discovered it were so delicious. As to the experience of actually eating one, the texture of the bugs, especially the legs are pleasantly crunchy and have little flesh in them… Bon appétit!
